What is speech therapy?Speech therapy is a specialized service for language, articulation, cognition, voice, fluency, augmentative and alternative communication, hearing, and feeding/swallowing. Thrive Speech Therapy, LLC emphasizes functional and effective total communication for individuals to obtain their highest level of independence.

Where do services take place?Services typically take place at either Sunrise Community of South Carolina or Beyond BASIC Life Skills. However, tele-therapy or in-home services are available.

What ages are accepted?Thrive Speech Therapy, LLC serves adolescents and adults.

What insurance companies are you in-network with?Thrive Speech Therapy, LLC accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Tricare.

How long and how many times a week are a typical session?Therapy is typically 1-2x/week for 60 minute sessions. However, frequency and duration can be adjusted for individual client and family needs.

How do I get my child/dependent enrolled in therapy?Send a message! Let's first chat and identify your child/dependent's needs. If appropriate, you will be sent an invitation to our online portal, Fusion Web Clinic, to complete the necessary intake and consent forms. A prescription from your child's/dependent's physician within the past 12 months will be necessary before an evaluation and treatment can begin.

How do I get my child/dependent a communication device?Send a message! If a high-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) system (i.e. speech generating device) is appropriate for your child/dependent, I will work with a partner company to obtain a device funded through insurance. This often is a lengthy process that involves an on-going speech and language evaluation, face-to-face physician appointment, and prescription for insurance approval.

How soon can my child/dependent start speech therapy?There is currently a waitlist to be evaluated and begin weekly therapy. We will keep you posted when openings become available! However, consultations with a home exercise program may be appropriate during the interim.
